As a non-profit foster care agency, we provide safety, permanency and well-being for foster children placed in our care. Our first priority is to reunite children with their birth families whenever appropriate. When reunification is not possible, we provide support services to facilitate permanency via adoption or guardianship. As part of a comprehensive emancipation-training program, all our emancipating foster youth receive life skills training necessary for independent living.
Our Mission
The mission of United Care Group Homes and Foster Family Agency
is to provide nurturing residential living environments for
abused and neglected foster children that match specialized
program services with their specific therapeutic needs.
Our Vision
Starting with the Board of Directors, and through all levels
of operation, United Care administrators, social workers, childcare
workers, office staff and foster parents, all share one vision – to
provide for the safety, permanency, and well-being of every
foster child placed in our care. United Care is committed to
ensuring that every emancipating foster youth receives the
necessary life skills preparation and job training they need
to successfully transition to a productive independent adult
life.
Our History
United Care, Inc. was incorporated in July 1989, providing
residential treatment services as a 6-bed group home care provider
to Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
Today, we operate three group home facilities in Los Angeles,
providing care and supervision to girls 8-17 years of age
and a full-service therapeutic foster family agency. As of
January 2008, United Care supervises the placement of over
250 foster youth in its Group Homes and Foster Family Agency
Programs.
